Onyx at Crown Canyon is a landmark in high-desert luxury — a 2024 NAHB Best in American Living award winner and recipient of the Excellence in Masonry award. Designed by Drewett Works Architecture and developed by Bedbrock Developers, the home is carved into the rocky face of Crown Canyon with a deliberate material vocabulary that blurs the line between structure and landscape.

Fluted CMU in Grey runs throughout the project as both structural wall and interior finish — floor-to-ceiling in the living room, wrapping the outdoor fireplace columns, appearing as fire table surrounds on the terrace, and continuing through the kitchen and master suite. The vertical rhythm of the fluted profile echoes the ridgelines and saguaro silhouettes beyond the glass. It’s a rare example of a single masonry product doing real architectural work across every space in a home rather than serving as a background material.
