Flagstaff Bone & Joint

FLAGSTAFF, AZ

Dekker Perich Sabatini’s design for Flagstaff Bone & Joint uses CMU as the primary architectural material without ornament — Split Face Stone block covers the bulk of the exterior in a heavily textured field that reads differently at close range than it does from across the parking lot, shifting from a rough mineral surface to a composed facade with clear proportional logic. Ground Face pilasters run full height at regular intervals, their polished aggregate standing in contrast to the fractured Split Face between them and giving the long elevations a vertical rhythm that breaks down the building’s mass. Integrated Masonry executed consistent coursing across a building where the material is essentially the entire architectural statement.
