Designed by JWA and built by Wespac, Flagstaff Collision Center uses three CMU textures to do something most auto facilities don’t attempt — make the building worth looking at. Split Face and Triple Score Doeskin cover the field in complementary reads, while Ground Face Terra Cotta bands run horizontally through the coursing, pulling a warm reddish tone out of the Northern Arizona palette. Natural stone columns at the entry connect the masonry envelope to the surrounding ponderosa landscape. Re-Create Companies executed the multi-texture installation across a building type where that level of craft is rarely expected.
