The Maricopa Water District facility in Surprise uses three CMU textures — Ground Face, Shot Blast, and Smooth — in Ebony and Mountain White to bring material sophistication to an infrastructure building that most projects treat as purely utilitarian. The contrast between the dark Ebony volumes and the lighter Mountain White field gives the exterior a clear organizational logic, while the texture shifts add depth without decoration. Wespac and Re-Create Companies executed the multi-texture installation across a building type where that level of craft is rarely the expectation.
