The Mountain Line Downtown Connect transit hub is a 2026 Excellence in Masonry award winner and one of the more materially rich transit facilities in Northern Arizona. Loven Contracting specified Ground Face, Split Face, and Smooth CMU in Ebony across three unit sizes, using texture and scale shifts to articulate zones within a public facility that has to work at pedestrian speed and from passing traffic simultaneously. The Ebony palette ties the masonry to Flagstaff’s volcanic geology while giving the hub a presence that signals arrival rather than just shelter. G & G Masonry executed the installation across a high-visibility civic project where the masonry is the architecture.
