Starbucks Route 66

FLAGSTAFF, AZ

CSHQA packed a lot of material character into a small retail footprint on historic Route 66. Three CMU textures work in tight horizontal layers across the facade — Split Face Doeskin on the upper field, a Smooth Red Rock band at mid-height, and Vertical Score Bark grounding the base. The result is a building that reads as carefully composed from the street, which is rare for a drive-thru coffee format. G & G Masonry executed the multi-texture coursing cleanly enough to earn the 2017 Excellence in Masonry award.
