Fremont Station sits at the corner of Milton Road and Fremont Avenue in downtown Flagstaff, and its design reaches back to the city’s railroad and industrial heritage rather than defaulting to the alpine vernacular common to the area. The Spec Brik facade — laid in a rich, multi-tone blend across the full building envelope — anchors the five-story mixed-use complex with the kind of material weight that reads as civic in scale. Arched entry portals, a tapered chimney tower, and industrial curtain wall glazing all lean into that reference, and the Smooth Grey units hold consistent coursing through every architectural condition across a large and complex footprint. Re-Create Companies executed the masonry on one of the more technically demanding projects in recent downtown Flagstaff history.
